you can view .tga files with IRFANVIEW .
.dds, too

Just open one with irfanview and hit the < t > key.

Try the The Romanian Army of World War II (Men-at-Arms) By Osprey publishing. it is a full color book. I would just dig for a bittorrent on it. I have downloaded alot of these books, you just have to read which ones are included in the torrent you are downloading. :helmi_01:

But there's something I have to mention:
It seems that you layed one of the old HoI-pics with the green border over your pic and edited it with a rubber?!
There is no need for that :dmp_07:
Look into ...\HoI3\gfx\interface. There u'll find tech_photo_overlay.dds - in HoI3 this file replaces the green border from HoI2... I edited this pic a little and resized it. You may use it... So you only have to resize the pics itselfs. Oh: If you use my version of tech_photo_overlay.dds, u'll have to edit the country_technology.gui (located at ...\HoI3\interface\):

Around line 630 or something u'll find this:

You have to make sure that the "scale-order" appears like this...
In Vanilla paradox uses a smaller tech_photo_overlay.dds 158x122 or so - and therefor there is no "scale = 0.46" in this file...

You also have to make sure that the coordinates for the overlayer and the tech-pics are the same ;)

have you ever played Panzergeneral?

There is a Remake / Clone on Matrix-Games.

Low Cost , but we can modify the models!

1000 -2000 polygons per model, exported to OGRE (a 3D engine, the web is full of exportplugins)

The ingame models are ugly as hell, think you can build better ones.

sounds interesting the polygon count for the t34 76 is 3800 and thats low poly .
it whould be dificult to get it much lower.
i tryed removing the boxes on its side that reduced it by 100 or so to get a real difrance.
i whould have to redo the wheels and see if that whould help the tracks i cant do much about thay are basic flatened boxes .
with a good texture.
ill do some experimenting monday or tuesday and see what i can do.
i do rember panzer genral on the long road of stratagey perfection.
surprised so see peopple still playing an incarnation of it.
ill have a think on it.
but i will still assist with the modeling side of things ill get back to you after iv done some tests

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how to convert CIv sprites to Hoi2 sprites. :dmp_29:

ask robert he should be able to direct you to a tuturial i did.
takes you through it step by step
you need the spr generator a small amout of work has to be done with that .
and a paintshop programe so you can alte the pallets of the filmstrips.
and flicster a programe for opening the civ 3 files.
