Seine Entwicklung begann in Zeiten der HoI 1 Serie und setzte mit HoI 2 und seinen Erweiterungen DD und Arma fort. Eine neue Versionen wurden veröffentlicht, neue Teammitglieder kamen und alte gingen, aber die Idee selbst blieb am Leben: TRP will dem Spieler ein historischeres Erlebnis bieten und ihm sowohl im Singleplayer- als auch im Multiplayer-Modus historische herausfordernde Kampagnen bieten.

V. 1.4

TRP 1.04 ist eine Zusammenfassung der vielen kleineren Ideen, die wir zu unserer Mod hatten, während wir unser großes Projekt "Manpower- und Ressourcenverteilung" vorbereiten. Wir veröffentlichen sie nun auf Basis der neuen DH-Version 1.05, bevor wir uns an eine "Operation am offenen Herzen" der Mod machen.

Unter den größten Neuerungen dieser Version finden sich neue TRP-spezifische Einheiten und Minister, um den Spielern eine größere Vielfalt an Aufbauvarianten in die Hände zu geben und besser auf die einzelnen Nationen einzugehen: Die 1937er Flakkreuzer beispielsweise sind für die westlichen Alliierten zu Beginn des Krieges eine Alternative zu anderen Begleitern für ihre Großkampfschiffe. Ihre Kampfkraft v.a. gegen Bomberflotten ist hoch, aber aufgrund ihrer geringen Feuerdistanz sind sie nur von eingeschränktem Wert in normalen Seegefechten. Sturmgeschütze sind v.a. für das Deutsche Reich und die Sowjetunion eine früh verfügbare, etwas günstigere und damit interessante Alternative zu Infanteriepanzern. Der Handelsmarine-Minister bietet vor allem kleineren Nationen und Binnenländern erstmals einen nutzbaren Bonus im Bereich ihrer Marinechefs und der neue Kriegsrüstungsminister hilft bei der Modernisierung der Truppen.

Hinzu kommen jede Menge kleinerer Änderungen, Verfeinerungen, Bugfixes und neue Events bzw. Decisions. Die meisten von ihnen sollen zur Atmosphäre beitragen und Anreize für den Spieler schaffen, aber es gibt auch einige Änderungen, die wir mit besonderem Blick auf MP-Spiele eingeführt haben. So ist es nun etwa innerhalb der klassischen "Blöcke" der Achsenmächte und der Alliierten möglich, dass sich menschliche Spieler gegenseitig Oberbefehl erteilen und sich damit entlasten können, selbst wenn sie (noch) nicht verbündet sind.

New features introduced in DH 1.05

  • Adopted new misc.txt switches and text strings according to TRP's needs
  • Modified the new division info popup icon so that it fits into TRP's interface
  • Activated "upgrade through supply" mechanics, but reduced the effect considerably to 10%/year

  • USA and Commonwealth nations get the 1937 AA cruiser (CLAA) as a nation-specific CL model

  • Moved CV port strike mission into separate secret weapons technology
  • Added assembly line bonus for cavalry and elite cavalry (see info event), elite mechanized infantry and elite motorized infantry
  • Changed assembly line bonuses for mechanized and motorized infantry

Ministers

  • Added new "merchant navy focus" chief of the navy and made it available for several minors (major nations might follow later)
  • Added new "war armament minister" (cheaper upgrades)
  • Made AA-focused chief of air force available for a whole bunch of additional countries
  • Several small changes to (e.g. new chief of navy) + ITA + ROM + SAF + SOV (new ministers) + GER + DEN + HUN + JAP + KWA + ARG + BRA + CHL + YUG + IRQ + China-Nanjing)

Leaders

  • Added italian CTV leaders to the Nationalist Spain file

  • ITA set to mostly planned economy in 1936

  • HQs now get organization and morale values of armored units instead of infantry values
  • Corrections to subattack values for several submarine models
  • Seaattack values for submarines now differ more for modern and outdated models
